Community Play Project
Welcome to Brymbo Heritage Trust's, Roots to Shoots, community play project. The project offers a wide range of play opportunities for children and young people in an open access setting. We offer free play sessions in an exciting and caring environment for children to play. There are many play opportunities for children including den building, rope swings, arts and crafts, water slides, sports and many more. Our aim is to encourage children to be confident enough to play out independently having had a range of experiences and play opportunities.
As part of the Roots to Shoots programme we have been identifying sites suitable for our play development programme and as such we are currently running our sessions on the open spaces on the Plas Brymbo estate on Lamberton Drive, and alternating between the Cae Merfyn play area in Tanyfron on Wednesday's, 4pm to 6pm. This work is in partnership with Wrexham Council's Play and Youth Support Team who have enabled us to deliver these term time sessions alongside the school holiday provision provided by them which is funded by Brymbo Community Council.
We would be grateful if you would fill in a registration form and return it to a member of staff on site when you attend a session. This form contains contact details for your child in case of an emergency and outlines any additional requirements they may have.
The community play project is open to all children aged 5 and above (Children under 5 are more than welcome if they are accompanied and supervised by a responsible person). The sessions run on Wednesdays 4pm to 6pm in term time.
Please remember that play can be messy and we recommended children come dressed appropriately.
